This year, our students took time to express gratitude in thoughtful and creative ways. Their words highlighted the impact that our educators have—not only in the classroom, but outside, too. How they strive to build confidence, foster curiosity, and create a strong sense of belonging.
The Role of the Teacher in Montessori and IB
For both Montessori and IB programs, the role of the teacher is especially meaningful. In Montessori classrooms, teachers thoughtfully guide students toward independence while encouraging exploration and self-directed learning. Within the IB framework, teachers act as facilitators of inquiry—sparking curiosity, encouraging critical thinking, and helping students make connections to the world around them. In both approaches, teachers are not just instructors, but mentors who empower students to take ownership of their learning.
